Psychology of Coaching Research
The BCI_Study explores community life coaching research for African and African Diaspora communities in the UK and beyond. We are building the evidence base for coaching research that is culturally informed, community-rooted, and delivered by practitioners who share lived experience.
Our Mission
The coaching research industry has been criticised for its lack of diversity. A landmark report by Roche and Passmore (2021) highlighted structural racism within the coaching research ecosystem and called for urgent action.
The BCI_Study responds directly to that call — conducting research with strategically diverse populations, by intentionally diverse researchers, for the benefit of communities that have historically been underserved.

The insights I've gained in such a short time were so much more than I could have possibly expected. The coach was realistic and very knowledgeable and supportive. I heard myself for the very first time. Thank you.

An interesting experience, I struggled to find out what was happening, when I was offered the chance to be coached I accepted because I felt stuck. I now understand why I procrastinate and how to overcome this.
